Vision for Change
"After the Philistines had captured the ark of Gsd, they took it from Ebenezer to Ashdod. Then they carried the ark into Dagon's temple and set it beside Dagon. When the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the Lsrd! They took Dagon and put him back in his place. But the following morning when they rose, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the Lsrd! His head and hands had been broken off and were lying on the threshold; only his body remained." 1 Samuel 5:1-4
In this city, there is a man with a vision.
He comes from another state in this country, relocated his family when the Father told him to move, and now has a heart for the people here. He and his family do a lot of work in a slum close to their home. In recent years, they have started a House Gathering that meets on the roof of a home right outside the slum. They have also started a school in the slum for children to learn not only academics, but also the Truth of the Father's love for them.
The first time we visited the slum school, he shared his vision us. The slum has a H temple where people come to worsh.p and sacrifice to their idols. He and his family strategically placed the school across the mud road from the temple. His dream is that the temple will fall on its face before the Truth being taught in the school, just as Dagon fell before the Ark. He longs to transform this little village from the inside out, from the children to the adults, from the poor to the rich.
I have been blessed that he has allowed me to share in his vision. When I'm in the city, I have the pleasure of teaching at his slum school. What an opportunity the Lsrd has provided. I get to do what I love and have missed so much, while furthering the Kingdom and this family's Gsd-given vision.
Look for more blogs about this school in the future, but here are some pictures to capture your heart.
