Friend's Wedding

This past weekend, one of my friends on this side of the world got married!  We met each other during training in the US and came to South Asia together.  Little did we know then that she would be getting married in a little over a year!

The wedding also provided a wonderful opportunity to meet back up with some other friends who I went to training and came overseas with, but hadn't seen in a long time.  Together, we had the priviledge of decorating a beautiful stone church with marigolds and ribbon.

See the finished product...

Between decorating and the wedding,  10 or so of us girls, rushed to get wrapped in saris and apply that last coat of waterproof mascera--also had to gobble down some McDonald's.  Between all of us, and a lot of help from a very special South Asian girl, we made it back to the church with pleats and pins in place.  We were ready to see one of our own tie the knot.

We sat in the back of the church and got to see the groom and bride anxiously waiting to come in and become one.

And then, the music began to play and in walked the most beautiful, happiest woman I've ever seen.

The wedding was full of things meaningful to both the bride and groom, but the message and ceremony was focused on JC.

As they turned to walk down the aisle, their joy in each other and in the Lord was overflowing for all to see.

Following the wedding, I helped hand out flowers to the young girls who came to the reception.  The reception was beautiful and the hundreds of people there turned it into a lively event.

There were tables set up around the perimeter of the reception area with many "street-type" foods that represented numerous parts of South Asia.  Later on iin the evening, a grand buffet featuring Indian, Italian, and Chinese food delighted the taste buds of those present.

 Don't forget the cake!

Or all the lovely ladies I got to share the evening with!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Landge!!
