Yesterday a man rang our doorbell and handed us a sheet of paper. It read:

We are pleased to announce that we shall be organizing the MAHA SHVRATRI PUJA at the Community Hall on Monday the 20th FEB 2012 at 6.30 pm onwards.
All are requested to participate in the Puja actively and make best use of the auspicious day.

Now, you don't get notices like those in America. Julie was out this morning and saw a woman doing puja (worsh.p) to the idol in the apartment gardens. We take a train today…it might be an interesting train ride.
It is a rather strange thing here, but it keeps the lostness at the forefront of my mind. Perhaps it will keep it at yours as well. Please remember these people today who live their life in fear and are reduced to only doing important things on auspicious days because they think they will have luck and blessing on these days.
